Explore thousands of miles of scenic trails in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Our trails are suitable for just about any type of recreation you can think of, including:
- Biking. Wisconsin is repeatedly ranked as one of the top bicycling destinations in the nation, thanks to our bike-friendly communities, excellent trail systems and breathtaking scenery. One to try: the Vilas County Hike & Bike Trail, a paved 27-mile stretch that runs from Boulder Junction to St. Germain.
- Horseback riding. Northern Wisconsin boasts some of the prettiest scenery east of the Rockies. Many places offer guided trail rides, arguably the most relaxing way to take in the picturesque Northwoods. One to try: the Crocker Hills Horse Trail, located just east of Antigo in Langlade County.
- Hiking. The Northwoods offers thousands of miles of hiking trails. Thick forests, abundant wildlife and scenic surroundings are just a few reasons to travel the trails. One to try: Oneida County’s Raven Nature Trail, a trail filled with wildlife and surrounded by pristine forest.
- ATVing. Traverse hundreds of awesome ATV trails in the Northwoods. Tackle the rugged wilderness, zoom past scenic lakeshores and get muddy in the woods. Two to try: the Forest County ATV trails in Crandon and the Lincoln County ATV trails in Tomahawk.
And when snow falls upon the state, our wonderful trails function as top-notch snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails. There are plenty of reasons to hit the trails of the Northwoods year-round!
