One to try: the Vilas County Hike & Bike Trail, a paved 27-mile stretch that runs from Boulder Junction to St. Germain.
- Horseback riding. Northern Wisconsin boasts some of the prettiest scenery east of the Rockies. Many places offer guided trail rides, arguably the most relaxing way to take in the picturesque Northwoods. One to try: the Crocker Hills Horse Trail, located just east of Antigo in Langlade County.
