Rhinelander

The Rhinelander Area is the only place on earth where you have a chance of seeing the Hodag, a woodland creature blamed for lost golf balls, missing beverages and trophy fish that “got away.” Catch a glimpse of the elusive creature along the area’s woodland trails or on a relaxing Wisconsin River Cruise. If you bring your clubs be sure to check out the beautiful Northwoods golf courses, but keep an eye on your ball because the Hodag may be nearby. There’s also a chance that the Hodag might be hanging around one of Rhinelander’s unique shops. And Hodag hunters should be sure to check out the Pioneer Park Historical Complex —rumor has it that the Hodag likes to nap in the popular logging camp exhibit.
